Word,
Great news on the Seventy-8 front! Director Uwe Boll's company Boll World Sales picked up Seventy-8 for Worldwide distribution. They plan on releasing the film in several territories including Australia, New Zealand, and Germany among others. They also plan on taking it to the film market at Cannes in May '08 to try and sell it in more territories. So keep your fingers crossed. There is no U.S. release yet... We are working with Brightlight Entertainment in Vancouver on the dvd stuff now. We will keep you updated on any new information as it develops. Thanks again to all of you who worked so hard on the film, this kind of stuff does not happen without all of you. Please go to Erik Clapp's blog to see the gag reel and new trailer at:

Mucho props to Amy Fowler. She won the Silver Addy at the American Advertising Awards in February for the official Seventy-8 movie poster and press kit. If you havenÕt yet seen it, go to the Evidence section and check it out!!

Seventy-8 won the Award of Excellence for Digital Feature at the Berkeley Film Festival in California recently.

NBC 5 did a nice story on Seventy-8 while we were at the Hollywood Film Festival. In case you missed it, I digitized it for everyone to see.

The Fort Worth Weekly will be doing an article on ÒSeventy-8Ó before the Ft. Worth play date. So keep an eye out for that issue on the stands.

Oh also a personal note: Thanks to everyone who voted for my poster design for Resident Evil: Apocalypse. I didnÕt win first place, but I did get some cool promotional crap, and my poster was selected for the poster gallery on the DVD version of the film, which is available now at your local video store.

Well, that is all for now. Everyone please keep in touch, and let us know how your doing and what youÕre working onÉ
Erik.

Big news this week starting with the announcement of our local Cast/Crew Screening. Producer Mark Mahlo decided what better way to kick off the Halloween weekend, then to have our premiere on Thursday October 28, 2004. We will begin the madness at 7:30 pm. Admission will be free! ! However there will be a change in venues from last time. We will be at the Angelika Film Center. There will only be one screening this time, so get there early. There will also be a party afterwards TBD.

However…

If you would like to see the movie before that there will be a screening of the film at the Deep Ellum Film Festival on Wed. Oct. 20th, 2004. No time has been announced as of yet. So check back soon, as we should know the date very soon. We are very excited to be participating in this festival. we encourage everyone to come out and support us.

Please check the Deep Ellum Film Festival site for ticket info, times, directions and everything else. It will also be held at the Angelika Film Center. Here is the link to the Deep Ellum Film Festival:

We are currently listed on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB). Not everyone is on there yet. It takes a while for them to get it all up there. Big up Props to Jon Keeyes for helping getting us on there.

And finally some more festival news!!! We have been accepted to compete in the Marco Island International Film Festival in Florida during November. We are showing two times there. Thursday November 4th and Friday November 5th. I’ll have more details as they become available. This film festival was recently voted one of the Top 20 Film Festivals Worth the Price of Admission by Moviemaker magazine. Here is a link to the site:

And finally we will be deciding very soon about our local cast and crew premiere!!!

This is all for now!
Erik.

Hello, and welcome to the new and improved SEVENTY-8 website. Take a look around and have fun. The site is still in its infancy, so there are still many things to add. Check back often as we will be putting new things on the site as often as we can. Hats off to webmaster Shawn Kelly for designing and creating the site.

Well since this is the first news posting, let me state that the film is complete! We finished the film at Video Post and Transfer in Dallas on Thursday July 22nd. Being an editor now for about 6 years I knew that the post would be brutal, but I had no idea it would take this long. But there was no need to rush it. We took our time and did things right. I hope all of you will agree.

The poster for SEVENTY-8 is complete and printed. You can view a nice big version by clicking here or going to the evidence section. Amy Fowler did an awesome job with coming up with a design that is simple much like Renny, but that is also menacing and mysterious feeling. I wanted an “old school” poster from the film noir days, and I think she nailed it.

So take a look around and let us know what you think. Again we are still working on it, so it will change a little bit from time to time. If you have any questions, you know where to get us...

Have fun and we will see you later.

Peace,
Erik Clapp
